Merchant is a tricky one, but much like The Crucible late last year it has been eerily ringing true. And, being surrounded by so many talented artists makes me beyond excited to share this piece.
Why see it?
Because more than four centuries after it was first performed, Merchant remains one of the Bard’s most compelling, ambivalent and controversial plays.
Because it’s a comedy until it’s not.
Because the word “justice” needs more than just a dictionary definition.
Because discomfort is a catalyst for conversation, especially in up-close live theater. Make sure you stick around for the after-parties on stage to hear what your fellow audience members are talking about.
